Our Story

I was a homemaker for years — my days built around my home, my family, my kids.

One evening, my little girl told me her dream. She wanted to be a doctor. Or a collector, an officer, someone the world would look up to. And then she added, so simply, so innocently — "but I'll stay home like you, Amma."

That sentence stayed with me. I didn't want her to see "staying home" as the only path open to her. I wanted to show her that a woman can dream — and go after that dream — at any stage of life.

So I applied for a job. And I got it.

But on the morning I was leaving for my first day, my daughter looked up at me and asked, "Amma, if you go, who will take care of me and my brother like you do?"

I couldn't do it. I went back inside, and with shaking hands, I tore up my appointment order.

Somewhere deep inside, I understood something I couldn't ignore — parenting isn't just about raising children, it's a journey where the child and the parent grow together, learn together, discover each other. That chance comes only once. And I didn't want to miss a single part of it.

Then one ordinary day, getting ready in front of the mirror, I felt dull. Tired. Not quite myself. On a whim, I changed my jewellery — just a different necklace, different earrings — and my whole face lit up. I stood a little taller.

I also have a son. I want him to grow up watching his mother chase a dream — and I want that to shape how he sees and respects every girl's dream around him, today and tomorrow.

None of this would have been possible without my husband, who believed in this dream as much as I did and stood by me through every late night and every doubt.
